Team Captains are the team leaders, and play a vital role in AIDS Walk/Run Philly. We rely on our Team Captains to help get the word out about the event and to organize their families, friends, and coworkers into active teams. Whether you're a long-time Captain or this is your first year participating, this page has all the information you need on how to get your team registered and start fundraising! Questions? Email us at teams@aidswalkphilly.org, our Team Outreach Staff is standing by!
If you want to be the captain of a team that already exists, login and register as the captain of your team. (If you don't remember your team number, you can look it up!) If you've never participated in AIDS Walk Run Philly before, you will have to create an account.
If you're creating a new team, register as the captain of a new team, and we'll contact you shortly with your team number. If this is your first time here, you'll have to create an account.
Remember, lots of schools, churches, and organizations already have teams in our systems, so be sure to search for your team name before you request to create a new one. This could save you time and confusion!
All of your team members should have their own account. If they have participated in the past or are new to AIDS Walk/Run Philly 5K, they'll need to register themselves on the website. Make sure they know your team number! A team can be made up of walkers, runners, volunteers, and virtual walkers, and all your team members can choose their own registration type. The Team Captain has access to the Team Roster and can see who has registered and send emails to the team.
Once your team is registered, you are ready to start fundraising! Fill out a Material Order Form for some AIDS Walk/Run Philly 5K swag. Make sure you visit our Resource Center for fundraising tips, social media tools, and to download sponsor forms for your team! Communicate with your team using the email feature in the Action Center. Attend a Team Captain Meeting before the Walk, and email us at teams@aidswalkphilly.org with any questions.
Team Captain Meetings provide an excellent way to meet our staff and other Team Captains to get and share ideas on recruitment and fundraising for the Walk and Run. Choose a day and time that work best for you. Refreshment provided!
